QUICK EAGLE NETWORKS LAUNCHES NEW G.SHDSL.BIS PLATFORM

CommunicAsia 2007 acts as launch platform
for new Ethernet-based transmission system

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – June 14, 2007 - Quick Eagle Networks, Inc., a leading provider of integrated WAN access solutions, today announced the launch of its brand new DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform™. Quick Eagle is showcasing the new product at CommunicAsia 2007 from June 19 – 22, 2007 in Singapore.

Convergence has been a hot topic in the industry for many years, yet today most network infrastructures still need to cope with legacy media (e.g. copper) to transport data. Thus, the biggest challenge today is to support new services (e.g. IPTV and triple-play applications) and migrate networks to next-generation technologies while minimizing the investment in upgrading the infrastructure. Quick Eagle’s new DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform can help: The DL48x0 is a cost-effective, Ethernet-based transmission system that takes advantage of the latest G.SHDSL technology, Extended Rate Bonded G.SHDSL (G.SHDSL.bis).

The DL48x0 is available in three versions: as a four-port model (DL4840), six-port (DL4860) and eight-port model (DL4880). Each G.SHDSL port supports up to 5.69 Mbps (1 pair / 2-wire mode) or 11.38 Mbps (2 pair / 4-wire mode) symmetrical data throughput over copper. The DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform's ports can be used as individual ports or bundled into a virtual pipe, enabling maximum throughput rates of up to 45 Mbps (DL4840), 68 Mbps (DL4860), or 91 Mbps (DL4880) respectively at the same reach range.

The DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform offers sophisticated management and diagnostic tools as well as enhanced security features (e.g. user level authorization, password, user name) to support extensive business networks. The DL48x0 is a highly versatile device that supports bridging, static routing, and dynamic routing modes all in one box and can be deployed using a variety of network topologies such as point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, multipoint daisy-chain, star or ring. Furthermore, a built-in four-port Ethernet switch enables the end user to attach several peripheral devices at the same time. The DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform also provides 802.1q VLAN tag marking (stripping / tagging) and forwarding, Layer-2 and Layer-3 (DiffServ) Quality of Service, Rapid Spanning Tree (which allows for network convergence), and superior noise immunity.

“With its high port-density, superior bandwidth throughput capabilities, and low cost, the DL48x0 is the ideal solution for city municipalities, government agencies, public service agencies, campus environments, multi-tenant units, enterprises, Internet Service Providers, and carriers worldwide,” said Naresh C. Kapahi, chief executive officer and president at Quick Eagle. “We have seen major interest from a variety of industries and customers and are therefore very optimistic that this product will be successful.”

The DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform currently undergoes beta testing and is scheduled to be available for market evaluation at the end of August 2007. The devices are expected to be available for the mass market at the end of September 2007. The DL4840 is listed at $2,499.00, the DL4860 at $3,199.00, and the DL4880 at $3,899.00.
