MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – June 4, 2007
- Quick Eagle Networks, Inc., a leading provider of integrated WAN access solutions, today announced the launch of its brand new DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform™. Quick Eagle is showcasing the new product at the ITS America 2007 Annual Meeting & Exposition from June 4 – 6, 2007 in Palm Springs, CA.
Quick Eagle Networks' new DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform is the answer to this dilemma. The platform has been designed specifically for the ITS market, meeting NEMA TS1/TS2 and Caltrans specifications. The DL48x0 is a cost-effective, Ethernet-based transmission system that takes advantage of the latest G.SHDSL technology, G.SHDSL.bis.
To address the varying needs depending on intersection architecture, interconnect distances, and other factors, the DL48x0 is available in three versions: as a four-port model (DL4840), six-port (DL4860) and eight-port model (DL4880). Each G.SHDSL port supports up to 5.69 Mbps (1 pair / 2-wire mode) or 11.38 Mbps (2 pair / 4-wire mode) symmetrical data throughput over copper.
The DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform's ports can be used as individual ports or bundled into a virtual pipe, enabling maximum throughput rates of up to 45 Mbps (DL4840), 68 Mbps (DL4860), or 91 Mbps (DL4880), respectively, at the same reach range. With the DL48x0 you can now achieve fiber-like performance without its high cost.
The DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform offers sophisticated management and diagnostic tools as well as enhanced security features (e.g. user level authorization, password, user name). The DL48x0 is a highly versatile device that supports bridging, static routing, and dynamic routing modes all in one box. Furthermore, a built-in four-port Ethernet switch enables the end user to deploy several applications at the same time. The DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform also provides 802.1q VLAN tag marking (stripping / tagging) and forwarding, Layer-2 and Layer-3 (DiffServ) Quality of Service, Rapid Spanning Tree (which provides a redundant ring topology for critical applications), and superior noise immunity.
“Quick Eagle’s new DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform is the Cadillac among Ethernet-based transmission systems, but without the high prices of other solutions attached to it,” said Naresh C. Kapahi, chief executive officer and president at Quick Eagle. “This product has been developed in conjunction with a variety of city municipalities and DoTs, ensuring that the features match not only today’s, but also tomorrow’s customer requirements. We are expecting great things from this product.”
The DL48x0 G.SHDSL Access Platform currently undergoes beta testing and is scheduled to be available for market evaluation at the end of August 2007. The devices are expected to be available for the mass market at the end of September 2007. The DL4840 is listed at $2,499.00, the DL4860 at $3,199.00, and the DL4880 at $3,899.00.
